HOW IT WORKS
Children below the age of 1
Sessions focus on helping children crawl and move around, using appropriate equipment and exercises. Activities for those who cannot walk yet are aimed at developing coordination and leg movements, and learning to sit. Easy exercises help children develop balance. At this age, the SOCATOTS approach is focused on stimulating the development of social skills, personality, communication skills, counting basics, language and physical development.
We believe one is never too young to learn. Each of these developmental areas is implemented through playing and fun activities. First age group sessions are shorter than those for other age groups, allowing for more limited concentration spans.
Children aged 1-2
Once children are walking, they can begin to develop their physical skills further in the areas of coordination, balance and agility. Using the basic skills of ball control acquired during the early sessions with SOCATOTS, the children begin to progress rapidly, applying the balance they have already developed to control the ball in the air in new ways.
Children aged 3-5
Activities for this age group are centred around the ball control and coordination skills acquired during first and second group sessions. Children learn more challenging commands, and develop good habits such as holding their head up while practising footwork.
Simple activities involving controlling the ball in the air are introduced, and children are encouraged to hone their juggling skills. They still work with their parents or carers, but also cooperate with other children in small groups.
Brazilian Soccer Schools
Children above the age of five who wish to continue their adventure with football can join Brazilian Soccer Schools, the next stage in our football development path. This programme, developed in the United Kingdom in conjunction with Leeds University, was inspired by Futebol de Salão, an indoor football game developed in Uruguay and Brazil. Futebol de Salão has moulded the skills of many of the most eminent footballers in history including Pelé, Carlos Alberto, Socrates, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos.
In Brazilian Soccer Schools the focus is on developing football technique. We believe in beautiful football, which requires technical mastery. Brazilian Soccer Schools is a great stepping stone to professional football or a fantastic addition to training with football clubs’ academies. But first and foremost, it is fun.
